The title of Paramedic is now protected by law. This means someone who calls themself a Paramedic must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
A Paramedic is the most senior member of staff on an emergency ambulance. They can also attend incidents in a Rapid Response Vehicle providing fast, initial expert care until an emergency ambulance arrives at the scene. They have specialist airway management skills and a range of drugs at their disposal.

We actively encourage all our Paramedics to be members of the College of Paramedics.
The College of Paramedics is a professional body which enables the Paramedic profession to be represented, and assists with the achievement of the self regulation responsibilities a Paramedic has for standards and education in line with the HCPC requirements.
